PlayStation State of Play Announced for Wednesday – WGB

Confirming several rumours, Sony has announced that a PlayStation State of Play will be held on February 12.

Taking place at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT, the live event will be around 40 minutes in length and will focus on “news and updates on great games coming to PS5.” And that’s really all Sony has to say about the event, leaving us to ponder what might be shown or even announced.

There are some fairly safe bets we can probably make, though: Ghost of Yotei is due out this year along with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, so both seem like strong candidates; and perhaps Insomniac’s Wolverine game might finally make a proper appearance? There’s also Sony’s upcoming Fairgames to consider, the next live-service game to stumble out of Sony’s pipeline. Perhaps this one will do a bit better than Concord?

There’s also been a few rumours circulating that God of War might be at the show, with a young Kratos in Greece. This could be a remaster or remake of the earlier games, or something new entirely.

Meanwhile, Jez Corden of Windows Central has been hinting that Hellblade 2 could be revealed for PS5 at the show. Replying to another user sharing the news of the State of Play, Jez said he had heard an announcement was coming “pretty soon.”

Speaking of Xbox games, Forza Horizon 5 was recently announced for PS5, so perhaps it could pop up?

Let me know below what you think is going to be at the show.
