Fable delayed to 2026, new gameplay footage released


Today, during a segment from the official Xbox podcast head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan revealed thatĀ Fable, which was previously slated for a release this year, is now being delayed into 2026. Further details about specific launch timing has yet to be shared, but as a consolation for those waiting for the game we received some short HUD-less gameplay clips to help showcase the current state of the game.

Playground Games’ take on Fable was first revealed in 2020, meaning that by the time we’ll finally have a chance to go hands-on with the game it will have been over 5 years since the announcement. Craig Duncan clearly understands how long this wait might feel, and hopes to reassure players that it will be worth the wait.
“While I know that’s not, maybe, the news that people want to hear – what I want to assure people of is that it’s definitely worth the wait.” He hopes that players will enjoy Playground Games’ shot at the franchise when it launches, now currently set for 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.Ā
